Our annual Rozzi’s Pyrotechnic Training day (Shooter School) is officially back on April 24th from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M. with some changes. While our school is typically an all-day event, this year we are offering a hybrid training day. A food truck will be available to purchase food for dinner. Please see the “Information” section below for COVID Protocols.
Our annual Training Day is a power-packed program that acts as both an introduction to the pyrotechnic industry and an opportunity for seasoned pyrotechnicians and fire departments to refresh their knowledge of current regulations affecting the fireworks industry.
Beginners can expect to learn the ropes on how to assemble a firework display, while veteran pyros experiment with electronic firing and computer-designed displays. Participants will also gain invaluable experience with some of the best pyrotechnicians in the world.
In Person Training:
This year’s in person training will only feature our outdoor, hands on training. If you’re new, you will learn the safety and the entire process of setting up a professional firework display. Each group will be constructing shows that will be fired at 8 P.M. with a pyro-musical display being fired immediately following the group displays.
Under the teaching and supervision of expert pyrotechnicians, you will learn:
- Fireworks Safety
- Fireworks Knowledge
- Display Site Construction
- How handle and load Fireworks
If you are returning for ongoing training, this is a great evening to experiment with electronic firing systems and computer-designed displays. This evening is also a great opportunity for our shooters to find new assistants as well.
APA & State of Ohio Training Online:
Mandatory online training will be required of all attendees. Upon registration, you will receive links and information regarding online training from the State of Ohio’s Fire Marshalls Office and the APA (American Pyrotechnics Association). Both will feature a presentation as well as a quick quiz that must be completed.
*We will start sending out these links beginning in mid-March. *
